Whew! Whatta year it was!
I completed the Mechanical Design Certificate at Wake Technical Community College, and began looking for my next job as a CAD technician, but I always seem to time this wrong. I found myself in an uncertain economy because of the upcoming national elections. I've had some interviews, but I could tell that those situations were not right for me. Now that the elections are behind us and the new year is hear, hopefully I can make some progress landing my next job.
I would like to work with my brother Jason on some of his land surveying work as a side hustle. To prepare for that, we have ordered a new computer, and I am going to run it with dual monitors.
Bob has been making some improvement in his eyesight and stability. I think 2025 is going to be a good year for him!
Al and Keziah were both on vacation during the last two weeks of 2024, so I had to run the machine shop myself. It really wasn't that bad because in addition to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, John gave us Thursday and Friday off too. So, I only had to work by myself for 3 days.
Trump is going to be the president again. All I can see is chaos for the next 18 months because of him and the people he will surround himself with. It really bothers Bob, but I refuse to get pulled into the despair.
The last thing that came out of Pandora's Box was hope. Without hope, men die. So, I hope that 2025 will be better than the past year.
