Work was quite busy today - we have logged $394k in new orders so far!

William handed out our paycheck stubs this afternoon. There won't be a bonus this month.

It rained this afternoon. There was a 70% chance of rain.

This evening we had a turkey roll for dinner.

Buddy got a walk around Lake Eola this evening. While were walking the park manager was testing the new speakers with patriotic music. Getting everything ready for The Fourth!

This week is looking to be very strong for sales! At close-of-business we had logged $351k in new orders!

Craig is going out-of-town this weekend and he's asked Fay to go to his house each day to check on his cats, feed them, water them, and clean the litter box.

We've gotten rain this week! It rained yesterday, it rained today, and we have a 70% chance of getting rain Thursday and Friday!

We had cheeseburgers and green beans for dinner. Then we took Buddy for his walk, got a copy of the Orlando Weekly, checked our mail, and put medicine on Buddy's toes.

Not really a very exciting life here!

Back to the grind stone.

There were quite a few orders waiting for me this morning! I processed $154k today. Looks like this week is getting off to a great start!

During lunch I heated up a bowl of left over white bean chicken chili with a dollop of sour cream. But, I still had to go out to buy gasoline for the truck. Because gas prices have dropped recently, it took less than $40 to fill the tank!

It clouded up really black in the east sky this afternoon and I was sure it was going to storm, but it didn't. It did rain for a little while.

Bob made baked Buffalo wings for dinner and we steamed some mixed vegetables with them.

Now Buddy has been walked and it is almost time to lay down, read, and sleep.

Weekend

Well, there's another weekend down. It wasn't long enough.

Yesterday we had pancakes made with whole wheat flour and almond flour, with Canadian bacon, and coffee.

After breakfast we went to Ace Hardware ostensibly to get wide mouth canning jar lids, but while we were there, we picked up a few more things, like jelly jars, 3/8" Forstner bit, lamp oil, and a plastic tool box to put Bob's wood turning tools into.

We came home and I started to cook down the vinegar, water, and garlic; chopped up the banana peppers and jalapeno peppers, and started heating up the boiling water canner. We canned 8 pints of peppers, but I am not too happy with the way they turned out.

For some reason the peppers got soft after canning. The head space tripled, and the contents seemed to have shrunk. I opened a jar up to try them and they turned out tasty, even if they are kinda mushy. To my surprise, Buddy likes them too!

I pulled all of the items out of the display case by the front door, cleaned the glass shelves with paper towels and Windex, and then put everything back inside.

For dinner we had lamb chops and whole grain rice. We gave Buddy a couple of bones to crunch and chew on and he thought that was a real treat!

At 4:30 AM I woke to hear him gagging and puking in the hallway. I got up and found that he had puked up some lamb chop bone pieces. I cleaned up the bones with a paper towel, and then used the SpotBot to clean up the rest of the vomit.

After that we slept in til 9:00 AM! It was so dark, cloudy, and overcast, it was easy.

Finally we got up. Bob took Buddy for a walk and I made a breakfast of scrambled eggs with sauteed tomatillos and onions, Canadian bacon, toast with blueberry-lime jam, and coffee.

I pulled all of the liquor bottles out of the liquor cabinet and cleaned all of the glass nice and shiny, and then put it all back together. There was a lot of dust on the shelves!

In the afternoon we went to Wendy's to get lunch, the we went to Barnes & Noble Books. I got a book about near zero-energy housing, a book with the Chinese Tao Te Ching, a hardback book about fly fishing, and a book of old wild west stories.

We stopped in at Target to get some basil, a package of mozzarella cheese, beefsteak tomatoes, and some buffalo wing coating. Then we came home, walked Buddy, and made a nice cool Caprese salad for dinner.

Now we have the house cleaned up and we are ready for another week!

It stormed like a monsoon last night. Lots of lightning and heavy rain. Since it was as hot as an oven during the day, it shouldn't be a surprise that we had such a powerful storm.

Today was hot and humid. I took my lunch, so I was able to stay in.

FER-Orlando finished the week with $305k in new sales. Hollywood only brought in $42k.

Bob made white bean chicken chili for dinner. Shortly after dinner it started to storm. Buddy kept begging me to take him outside, so I got my rain coat, pulled his harness on him, and took him down to the street.

He didn't like it.

The walk was short. We went out the back door to Pine Street, north on Lake Avenue, and in the front door to the lobby. He shook most of the water off and then we checked the mail. While I was looking at the mail, Buddy lifted his leg and peed on a potted plant in the lobby!!

We had to put medicine on his red inflamed toes and he is laying down sleeping now.

Tomorrow, after I go to the hardware store to get some wide mouth lids, I am going to can banana peppers and jalapeno peppers.

It was another baking hot day today. Fortunately, I took my lunch of leftover pork chops in with me and did not have to go outside for lunch.

Bob spent some time outside this afternoon at the SPCA. He showed up at the office around 5:00 PM all flushed from the heat.

My drive home was cooking hot. Then we had meatloaf and green beans for dinner.

Right now it is thundering outside, but I cannot tell whether it is going to rain or not.

Well, I have finally done it -- after four years, I have finally downloaded enough pornography to fill up this hard disk drive! Of course, this HD is only 250 GB.

I priced new hard drives today on Amazon.com and found that I can get a 2 Terrabyte drive (1000 x bigger) for just $80. I am going to get one when I get paid, and Bobby will install it for me.

The days are scorching hot. I am taking my lunch with me to work so that I don't have to go out during midday.

Sales are moving along at an average rate. We are probably going to end up with an average week for sales.

Bobby made pork rind breaded pork chops for dinner. Later, after our dog walk, we laid on the living floor, read the Orlando Weekly, and enjoyed a cold bowl of Jello with fruit cocktail in it.

Back to the grind stone.

I slept very soundly last night. I was tired.

Bobby made scrambled eggs and Canadian bacon for breakfast. Then I had to shower and get ready for work.

The scale at Publix said that I was down another pound. Yeah! Slow and steady loss! I picked up a new pair of sunglasses this morning too.

I pulled up to the office and was sitting in the truck waiting for a song on the radio to finish when Fay's Lexus came tooling down the parking lot. Mr. Lewis dropped her off and then left with her car!

I told Fay that I needed to take a long lunch today, and she said it was okay because she needed to leave at 4:30 to take her husband to the Greyhound station.

There were only two new orders, plus a couple that were faxed directly to the factory, but we still made about $50k.

During lunch I went to Valencia Community College to talk with a counselor about enrolling in the drafting program to audit classes and rebuild my drafting skills. I waited for 90 minutes to talk to the late-middle-age, extremely obese guidance counselor with the rose tattoo on her tit for a whole two minutes.

Sometimes I just don't know if it's worth it.

I got a sandwich at Subway on the way back to the office and ate it at my desk.

Dinner this evening was Hamburger Ole. It was very good!

We took Buddy for a walk around Lake Eola this evening. He gets very excited to see the turtles sunning themselves and the big swans. During our walk the fountain workers started up the fountain for a test. We sat down on a park bench while Sonny and Cher cooed out I Got You Babe on the park-wide speaker system and the setting sun blinded us.

Back at the Waverly we stopped on the second floor to get our mail, and that is when the fire alarm went off. A two-year-old pulled an alarm on the 18th floor. We had to wait in the lobby until the Orlando Fire Department came and turned off the alarm.

When we got back to the house, Bob checked voice mail on his phone and then got a call from his brother. More drama. His brother is divorcing his wife and his nephew is taking hormones and trying to get a sex-change operation. Geez.

I am just about ready for more sleep! Happy Birthday Tyler.

Weekend

Well, that's another weekend gone. It was good!

We had scrambled eggs with diced tomatillos, onions, mushrooms and cheese stirred in, with Canadian bacon, and coffee for breakfast. Bob brought a cream cheese coffee cake from Publix and we enjoyed that with our breakfast too.

Buddy got a bath and we used his new buttermilk and oatmeal shampoo. He smells nice and clean and his coat feels really soft!

Later we went to Skycraft to look for project parts and then we went to Lowe's. At Lowe's we got vegetable seeds, some aphid killing spray, sandpaper, edge following router bit, clamps (you can never had enough), wood color matching stick, and an oak board.

After a lunch of soup, we carried the lathe onto the balcony and Bob spent some time turning his salt mill project. I called Mom and talked to her while Bob worked outside.

I also worked on my wood project, and tried drilling a 3/8" hole in the depth gauge, but the wood split and it cracked and came apart. Oh, well. I kept working on the center-finding trammel and made good progress on that one.

For dinner we had chicken wings that had been marinating in jerk sauce all afternoon.

Lots of thunder in the evening, but I am not sure how much rain we got.

This morning we had mushroom and cheese omelets with Canadian bacon, coffee, and left over coffee cake.

We spent some time at the computers surfing the Internet, and then I called Dad to wish him a Happy Fathers Day. He was in his boat on Berlin Reservoir with Jason and Kobe and they were fishing. It sounds like the weather was really nice there today. Here, well, it was already blazing hot and very humid.

I tried to change the spark plugs in Bob's Xterra, but I am going to need a 12" extension bar to reach clear down to the cylinder head and get the socket onto the plugs! That was a disappointment.

For lunch we had Sweet Red Pepper soup mixed with Spanish style rice.

Bobby worked on his salt mill project some more and drilled the hole through the cap. Then he sanded it really smooth. While he did that I worked at my table cutting my trammel and depth gauge body guides out of the 1/2" oak board. I am going to make guides for the router bit to follow for cutting additional copies of these projects.

I finished the center-finding trammel this morning. I think it turned out okay. It's not perfect, but if you use it carefully, it works! It looks pretty nice too!

It clouded up this evening and thundered a lot. We made Buddy hurry through his walk so we would not get wet, but it never seemed to rain!

Dinner was baked ham steaks, stewed tomatoes, and sweet peas.

Now we have run the vacuum, cleaned the kitchen and bath floors, and cleaned the glass tables off. I will probably sleep pretty good tonight!

TGIF! It couldn't come soon enough this week!

It was hot all day today. Fortunately I took a box of left overs with me for lunch, so I did not have to go out during lunch.

FER-Orlando did $220k in orders this week. Hollywood brought in $280k. All together we made an average week.

The drive home was oven-hot. It was clouding up and I knew we were going to have thunderstorms.

While Bob was getting a pork loin ready for the dinner table, I checked on my pepper plants. All of them have aphids. Some are worse than others. I sprayed them all down with more soapy water and Sevin powder, but they are hard to get because they are hanging under the leaves.

We are going to look for a better insecticide tomorrow at the store.

At least we are getting peppers off of the plants. After we purchase some jalapenos and serranos we are going to chop up the banana peppers and can them - probably next weekend.

Buddy got his walk this evening in between rain showers. Right now there is a lot of lightning to the north of us and I bet it is going to storm again. As hot as it was today, the storms are no surprise.

Tomorrow the dog is going to get a bath, and then have the ear medicine put into his ears. Later Bob and I are going to go to Skycraft to look for 3/8" brass nipples. I have to change spark plugs in the Xterra this weekend too.

We had scrambled eggs with re-heated pork chops for breakfast. Then I had to shower, shave, and brush my teeth.

The highlight of the day was meeting Mike Zupo and Brenda Schold for lunch at LongHorn Steakhouse. I had a peppered beef sandwich with mixed veggies.

Bob had lunch with his friend Kim today. They went to Pine Twenty 2 and then came back here to discuss how things are going at his old job. Kim found out that a walker had been prescribed for Bob, but he had not ordered it because he could not afford it. Kim got on the phone and ordered the walker for Bobby and even had it delivered! Insurance covered it and he only has to provide a $40 co-payment.

Now all we need is a handicapped driver tag for the car!

This evening I harvested about a dozen of the biggest peppers and put them into the fridge. I am going to get some jalapeno peppers and can these banana peppers soon.

Supper was squash and zucchini stir fried with sausage. Then we took Buddy for his evening walk.

I am glad this week is about over. I need to rest!

It was cloudy and very very humid when we got up this morning.

We had oatmeal with diced up apricots for breakfast.

I took leftover chicken wings and a small can of lima beans with me for lunch.

During the afternoon it steadily clouded up and rained at the office. Bob had to take dogs outside in the downpour.

When we got home we had pork chops with green beans, apple sauce, and cottage cheese for dinner. Then we took Buddy for his walk.

We got a copy of the Orlando Weekly on the way home, laid on the living room floor and read it, and then I worked on my wood project for a little while. Ironically, I worked on brass metal parts for the wood project.

Now there are flashes of lightning outside and peals of thunder and it is time to go lay down.

We got up at 6:00 AM. I took Buddy out for his morning walk and Bobby made omelets for breakfast.

Work today was a little busy. There were plenty of orders in my Inbox when I got in, and Fay was over an hour late due to a doctor appointment.

Fay was kept very busy with a dealer complaint. The dealer was upset that he got exactly what he ordered. Some people!

I went to the hardware store during lunch. I got a countersink bit, a chalk line, some rubber door bumpers, and more 5-minute epoxy.

We had a thunderstorm at FER during the afternoon. It rained hard and there was thunder and lightning.

Dinner was chicken wings with mixed steamed veggies.

It is still cloudy outside and I think it could storm again during the night, or definitely, again tomorrow.

Ugghh... back to work.

Fay was 12 minutes late this morning. She didn't notice the clean carpet at first. It took her about 4 more minutes to notice that the floors were clean.

I took a bowl of black bean soup with me for lunch. I had this with a small Publix salad. It was good to be able to stay inside instead of trucking outside in the heat.

It was pretty much a ho-hum day until the virus incident...

It started with Fay crying out from down the hall, "Vince... I need your help!" I went down the hall to see a big flashing virus warning screen. "What should I do?!!" I told her to call Evelyn. Evelyn told her to turn the computer off and she would come over between classes to look at it.

She happened upon this trojan horse virus while surfing the internet for a website on "how to prepare your lawn for sod". How daring!

So, Fay was without a computer for the afternoon. Evelyn showed up at 4:30. Because she has seen this problem before, she was able to quickly take action to fix it. She had the problem in hand within 30 minutes!

This evening Bobby made a nice cool Caprese salad with tomatoes, thick mozzarella cheese slices, and freshly chopped basil.

Weekend

Friday was a hot sunny day. I brought a Publix salad and a small carton of cottage cheese for lunch and did not have to go outside during lunch.

FER-Orlando finished the week with $250k in sales. Hollywood brought in over $400k. So, a good week all around.

Bob made Mexican Meatloaf for dinner. We cut the first pepper from our plants and tried it. It was very mild - not hot at all. We are going to be getting lots of peppers.

After dinner I set up my router table and rounded over the edges of the small pieces of Bolivian rosewood that my next projects are being made from. Later, while I was using a chisel to plow a slot for a brass bar to be laid in, the chisel slipped and I cut my thumb. I bandaged it up and went back to work. Next I cut my middle finger. Finally I cut my index finger. I had enough.

On Saturday we got up and Bob took Buddy for his morning walk while I made breakfast. We had ham and cheese omelets with sour cream and salsa, sausage links, and coffee. Buddy got dry food with a can of Mighty Dog mixed with it!

After we got the dishes cleared away, I moved the dining furniture into the kitchen, living room stuff into the entry, office chairs and stuff into the bathroom and master bed room stuff up off of the floor onto the bed or into the bathroom. I moved Buddy into the bathroom too.

Then I got the carpet shampooing machine out, filled the tank with water and cleaning solution, and began scrubbing the carpets. Bobby went to the Winter Park Farmers Market to get some bee pollen. When he returned I put him to work cleaning window sills.

It took about two hours to clean the carpets. I love how the pile is pulled up and feels so soft after the carpet has been cleaned!

We had some black bean soup for lunch. I pulled two steaks out of the freezer and put them into the sink to thaw. I continued working on my wood project in the afternoon, and Bob worked outside on the balcony at the lathe. He drilled the body of the maple salt mill he is working on.

After we cleaned the saw dust and wood chips off of the balcony, we filled the grill with charcoal and lit it up. We grilled our steaks for dinner. These turned out very good! They were very tender.

During the evening dog walk we popped into Publix and got some black berries and butter pecan ice cream for a nice cold treat.

This morning we got up around 7:00 AM. Bob and Buddy went for a walk while I made a breakfast of cheese omelets filled with leftover black bean soup, and coffee.

We loaded the vacuum cleaner, the carpet shampooer, and the cleaning solution into the truck and went down to FER to clean the office carpets. I vacuumed everything thoroughly before starting. Bob sat in the test kitchen and read his book about Blackwater at the table.

While we were cleaning the carpet, Craig showed up. He popped in to get the newspapers. He went to the kitchen and saw Bob in there. He handed Bob a $20 and told him to use it for lunch. It took about two hours to get the carpets done. I shampooed each room and I did the hallway twice.

After cleaning the shampoo machine thoroughly, we put everything back into the truck and went to Lowe's. I needed to get a bastard file, a rat file, some sandpaper, clear drying epoxy, and more carpet cleaning solution.

Then we were ready for lunch. We drove to the Ocoee Arby's and feasted. The total came to $19.33. Close enough! After this we drove to the 408 and came straight home. It was just too hot outside.

Bob went to take a nap while I continued working on my wood project. Later he got up and folded some laundry and then we put the dog in the tub while we put the drying medicine in his ears. Later we took Buddy out for his evening walk. It was still very warm and he was dragging when we got back home. He went to the bedroom and laid down with his legs straight out!

It clouded up and soon we heard thunder. We got a good thunderstorm this evening and it rained hard for 30 minutes! We needed some rain.

This was a tiring and busy weekend, but it was productive!

Work was steadily busy today. Sales pushed up to $200k - right where they should be by Thursday.

I forgot my lunch, so Bob came to FER with my lunch around 10:30. I thought he'd wait until around noon since he had to go to SPCA at 1:30 PM anyway. I gave him $2 and told him to get a bottle of water before going to the shelter.

Craig said that Mike Zupo wants me present at lunch next Thursday. Craig, Fay, Mike, Brenda Schold, and me will be going out to lunch. William will have to stay and catch the phones. I would rather stay in myself and answer phones. Oh well.

"We sent all of the drawings and equipment schedule over to Vince this week. My God! How do you people stay in business?" said an indignant mechanical contractor bidding on a Lee County hospital project to Barbara Hacker and me. "Well Sir, I could ask you the same question, but we aren't going to go there. Your assistant emailed drawings to me, can't she email the equipment schedule as well?" What an asshole.

We had a Jenny-O turkey roll for dinner. Bob puts it in the oven and sets the timer so that it cooks for two hours and then turns itself off. It works pretty well for us!

Hot and humid weather here in Florida. Temps in the 90's and very high humidity. I left for the office early and went to my storage unit to get some tools out. By the time I was done digging through some boxes and got out of there my shirt was soaked. Temps were around 70°F, but it was so damned humid.

I stopped at Exxon to fill the gas tank too. $45 into the gas tank.

Fay was an hour late this morning because she had to go to the lab and have blood work done. She came in full of excuses to explain why it took so long.

Over halfway through the week now! Sales are a little weak, but we are making some money.

Bob counted the peppers outside on the balcony. We have 38 peppers now!

We had the Hamburger Ole for dinner again this evening. Bob made cherry gelatin mixed with cream cheese for a dessert too.

During our evening walk we picked up a copy of the Orlando Weekly. Now we are getting ready to sleep.

Back to the grindstone...

We had scrambled eggs with turkey sausage links for breakfast this morning. Then I had to shower, drag a razor across my face, and dress for work.

Fay finally made it back to work this morning. She said that she only slept one night during the whole time she was sick despite taking cough medicine with codeine and antibiotics. I think she just didn't take enough.

I told Fay that I was going to be taking an extended lunch. I needed to go to Navy Federal Credit Union to make a cash deposit and the branch office is all the way across town. Now, here in Orlando, if you have to go across town, you really have to go a ways. It isn't like cutting down Oleander Drive! I was gone for an hour and twenty minutes.

It was very hot outside and since the truck doesn't have AC, the heat really took a lot out of me. I was tired for the rest of the afternoon.

This evening Bob made pork chops for dinner. He made the breading on them with crushed pork rinds and it was very good!

It clouded up and it looked like we might have ended up with a thunderstorm, but it did not happen. So, in the end Buddy got a walk all the way around Lake Eola.

Sunday

Bob made asparagus and cheese omelets with turkey sausage links and coffee for breakfast while I took Buddy outside of his walk around the neighborhood.

Later we went to Staples to get a new cyan ink cartridge for our printer ($20). We are going to have to get black and yellow cartridges soon too.

Next we drove up Highway 17-92, making a quick stop at Burger King to get some lunch, and then we drove to Woodcraft to exchange the 12" salt mill kit for a 10" salt mill kit (I bought one too long). They credited $1.07 back to my charge card.

Then we went to Lowe's to buy a 65 watt flood lamp to replace the burned out one in the kitchen.

We stopped at Exxon to get some gasoline, and then we drove to my storage unit to get my wood working hand tools out.

Bob spent the afternoon on the balcony running the lathe and turning his salt mill project. I made a spinach salad for our dinner.

After dinner I took Buddy for his walk while Bobby cleared the dishes away and took a nice cool shower. I am ready for a shower now. We have to clean the house up now and get ready for another work week.

Saturday

We got up at 6:30 to walk Buddy. We walked east to the end of Pine Street and all the way around Lake Lawsona. Then we found our way to Washington Street and walked past Dexters. I had planned for us to eat breakfast at Dexters since they are now serving breakfast, but as we passed we saw it was empty and closed up. The sign said that they serve breakfast at 7:00 AM MONDAY - FRIDAY.

Well, I guess they are never going to see ME in there for breakfast!

We took Buddy back home and then went to Fairbanks Restaurant for breakfast.

After breakfast we went to BJ's Warehouse, but it was still early so we went to Home Depot and browsed. Around 9:30 we were in BJ's filling our cart up. It's getting harder and harder to keep ahead of inflation! I've watched prices increase on some items more than 10%!

We dropped about $350 in BJ's and then headed over to SuperTarget to finish our shopping. We rolled a cart loaded with $183 up to the register at SuperTarget and paid for the first $100 with the EBT card. Then I paid for the last $83.

Now we had to get this stuff home and put away because Bob had to go to Daytona Beach for a funeral this afternoon.

The freezer is packed to the gills and the shelves are stocked well. We should be just fine for the next three weeks, but just in case we aren't, we left $100 value on the EBT card for end-of-month necessities.

Bob went out and I got into the shower to clean up. Then I went out myself. I drove to Skycraft Electronics Surplus to get some small screw line terminals to finish my Basic Stamp project, but I ended up picking up a few more items as well. The bill there came to $19. Then I went to Woodcraft where I got a dovetail saw, marking knife, 3"x36"x3/4" board of Bolivian Rosewood, a book about buying and drying your own lumber, a salt mill mechanism for Bob's project, and a can of spray shellac.

Next I popped into Advance Auto Parts to get six sparkplugs for a 2002 Nissan Xterra. These plugs were "platinum" and they were "expen$ive"! The salesman was recommending NGK plugs for the car, but they were $3.99 EACH! They also had Bosch and Champion plugs. The Champions were only $1.99 a piece.

I told him I believed there was not much difference from brand to brand on things like spark plugs and oil filters, and he countered with a bullshit story about how "NGK plugs work better in Japanese cars, Bosch plugs are better in European cars, and Champion is better for cars like Dodge..." I told him, "Young man, go get me six of those Champion plugs and a damned plug socket to fit them too!"

That bill came to about $26.

After this I headed to Petco to get some rawhide chew bones, a new collar, and a toy for Buddy for a belated birthday present. He ended up with a nice new black leather collar, some rawhide soaked in chicken broth, and a squeak toy that resembles a chipmunk. He's very happy with his presents!

I went to check on my pepper plants in the afternoon and found the smallest and weakest plant just covered in aphids! I sprayed it down with soapy water and sevin, but they were EVERYWHERE - all around the flowers, under all of the leaves. I checked the other plants and they seemed fine, so I decided to sacrifice that plant. I took to the trash chute, pulled it out of the pot and dropped it.

The remaining nine plants have over 25 peppers now! Yessiree, we're going to have banana peppers this summer!

I took the handle off of the saw I had cleaned up and took it to the balcony where I applied several nice thick coats of shellac to it. This will keep the dry wood from splintering and pulling off of it. Then, after it was dry, I reassembled the saw. It really looks nice now!

After Bob came home we took Buddy for a walk around the park, and then we went to MetroEspresso Pizza for dinner. Bob had eggplant parm sandwich and I had a Mediterranean salad.

We spent the evening browsing the Internet and went to bed around 9:30. We are such old people! Ha!

Guess who didn't make it to work today? That's right - Fay Lewis played hookie again today. "Well, I want you to know you just cost Mr. Hodges $200. I BET HIM YOU WOULD NOT COME IN TODAY!" I wanted to tell her that, but I didn't.

FER-Orlando finished the week with $205k in sales. Hollywood brought in $179k. Not bad for a short week.

This morning I checked on my pepper plants and counted 7 peppers. This evening I went out to water them and noticed more new peppers. The count is up to 20 now! We are going to have peppers this summer!

We enjoyed a dinner of red chili and then took Buddy for a walk around downtown. He's laying on his side on the floor next to me with his legs extended straight out. He's tired.

I finished reading The Creature From Jekyll Island this evening. That was a tome - 588 pages. I am ready for something lighter now.

Tomorrow morning we are going to go grocery shopping. We need to stock up for the month. The good thing is that June will only be three weeks long!

Fay was out again today. She called in to report that her doctor put her on antibiotics and gave her something to make her sleep. I guess it's better for her to be at home than to be miserable in the office making the rest of us sick.

Nevertheless, I managed to keep up pretty well. The one big project that came up I was able to forward down to Hollywood for Barbara to work on. Turns out she already had that one done too!

Bob showed up around noon and we went to Chik-Fil-A for lunch. Then he headed over to the SPCA to help with the dogs.

This evening we had a turkey roll and green beans for dinner.

After dinner I went out to the balcony to check on my pepper crop. I have 7 peppers now! It was a good idea to select smaller plants to grow on the balcony.

Thank God tomorrow is Friday!

We were rudely awakened at 2:35 AM by a very loud double thunderclap as Space Shuttle Endeavor passed over on its way back to The Cape. Even Buddy jumped up and barked!

Work today was a little more hectic than it should have been -- Fay was out again today. She "has a sore throat", but she has a doctor's appointment tomorrow at 8:30 AM. You watch, she will milk this into an entire week off.

We got some rain today! There was a healthy thunderstorm and it rained for at least two hours. We needed a good soaking.

This evening we had baked cheeseburgers with green beans for dinner. Then Buddy took a walk around Lake Eola. On the way home we picked up The Weekly.

Just two more days this week! I was paid last night, paid my bills this morning, balanced the checkbook, and we will go grocery shopping this weekend.
